Marit stiles launches campaign to be a premier on your side

TORONTO – Marit Stiles, leader of the Ontario NDP, was joined by hundreds of supporters, candidates, and caucus members to make her pitch to be Ontario’s next Premier and kick off the campaign:

“In the next few weeks, we have the power to change things here in Ontario. We have the power to turn the page on seven years of Doug Ford, fight back against Donald Trump’s threats with real leadership, and win a government that is on your side.

In the face of Donald Trump’s threats to our economy and sovereignty, here is my promise to you:

We are going to look after our people. We will fight to secure Ontario working families through a strong income protection program.

We will support a strong, smart, tough tariff response that hits back hard.

As the next Premier of Ontario, I will urge the Government of Canada to find allies in the democratic world, inside and outside of Canada, standing together.

Your vote carries real power. You can vote to secure working families against the threat of tariffs. You can vote to hire more doctors, build more homes, fix our schools. You can vote to make life more affordable.

Doug Ford does not deserve a third term. It’s time to choose a better Ontario.

It’s time for a premier who is on your side.”
