Chris Wilson nominated as the NDP candidate for Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes

BROCKVILLE — NDP members in Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes have nominated Chris Wilson to be the local New Democrat candidate in the upcoming provincial election.

“Our communities deserves a voice that will fight for schools, hospitals, and a more affordable life for everyone,” said Wilson. “After seven years of Doug Ford’s shuttered emergency rooms and crumbling schools, people in rural communities are feeling taken for granted. It’s time we had a government that works for everyone.”

As someone with personal experience navigating Ontario’s underfunded health care system, Chris knows people should be able to expect more from their leaders. He’s been a tireless advocate for his community of Kemptville and a strong voice for stronger mental health supports.

“Chris is a strong addition to our team,” said Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP. “When we form government, we’ll work together to hire doctors, fix schools, and rebuild a province full of opportunity.”

Quick Facts:

  • A finance and risk management professional living with chronic, late-stage Lyme Disease, Chris is an advocate for patients and people living with disabilities
  • Chris is actively involved in his community as a board member with the Ferguson Forest Centre and Kemptville Area Family Resource Centre, and Chair of the Mino-jichaag-mtigwaaki Committee creating an Indigenous-focused outdoor space in Leeds–Grenville
